SouthWest Sun Solar is devoted to bringing solar energy to the California community. We do this through continual community work and diversity outreach. The staff includes some of the best engineers and team members who work hard every day to make sure that not only is our community green, but also doing its best to bring more diversity to the community and workforce. The SouthWest Sun Solar Scholarship is designed to spread our work into the academic realm. Following our vision of bringing solar to every family, we want to make sure to support those students who have shown work and a passion for solar.
Applicants must be undergraduate students at the time of the application period. Applicants must also have at least a 3.0 GPA and prove that they are residents or students of a university/college in the Southern California area.
Applicants will be evaluated based on academic excellence, work in the community or school, in addition to their community service.

Applicants must fill out the application form, attach a resume and submit 2 recommendation letters from employers, professors, advisors, or community leaders. In addition, applicants must submit a 500 word personal statement about their work in the community.

In 500 words, please discuss your work in the Solar or renewable energy industry. This can include school research, community service or any form of work in renewable energy. We are looking for a candidate who has done work in spreading the benefits of solar or has contributed to the understanding of solar or any other renewable energy.
